Amen,We all have to learn to shut out that voice in our head which urges us to “one up” others in a conversation. The same voice which leads us to anger and to feel like winning regardless of who we offend or hurt.

And we can go back to the bible where it says it first.
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy” - James 3:17 Remember when we talk to a brother, we do it out of love. If our conversation is going to make the brother angry and stumble(sin), why say anything at all? This is not just for our brothers, but for everyone. Jesus says that it is ‘without partiality’. We are in all matters of conversation to be impartial. In today’s society we are told to fight for our rights and that if we do not we are getting trod on. Just like if someone offends you and then we believe we have a “right” to hurt them. But you see we are not being trod on if we are being impartial. If we respect strangers as much as we respect our loved ones - we are no longer being trod on. It is simply the way we behave.
When we know we are right, we don’t need to force it down anyone’s throat. Particularly, if it will cause the other person to sin. We can approach them peacefully about it and present it in a way that makes it easy to be accepted because we love them. If we are correct, God knows it. And let us be not pleasers of men, but pleasers of God.

God bless, I have personally learned so much from that passage. And when I write these things, I do not write them from a position of perfection. I write to myself because I know i have hurt and lost brothers for my fleshly desire for pride and the feeling of being correct.

Philippians 1:21

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain“ - Philippians 1:21

It is a beautiful chapter about Paul’s love of furthering God’s kingdom. So much so that he compares going to be with Jesus Christ with being in the flesh. He sees the blessing in living to further God’s kingdom.

“For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body” - Ephesians 5:23 KJV

Sadly, in today’s society people who attempt to discredit the bible by saying it is sexist or misogynist, believe that this verse means that the husband is to be a dictator over the wife and family. But this is far from the truth. It simply means the husband is in a place of leadership. Both the husband and wife are equal in quality, worth, and in many other ways. Each may have strengths over the other. Headship given to the man is a functional position. It is God’s chain of authority. Like every institution, a family has to have leadership.

The feminist view that has consumed today’s society is enraged at religions as they command the woman to submit to their husband. But be proud and joyed the bible commands: “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it” - Ephesians 5:25

Husbands, love you wives.

Religion is made by man and because of our inherent failures it will be imperfect.
Accepting the gift of salvation does break your bondage to sin, and from then on when we sin it is by our own shortcomings, not that inherent pull. But like the relationship between a father and his son, just because the son may wrong his father, he still the father’s son. This is why we need to repent. To make the relationship stronger.
Too often in this society we are brought down by our pride - too proud to say sorry. To apologise when we are in the wrong. But like the father who knows their child has wronged him, we apologise not to inform the father of our inequities but to mend that relationship for OUR OWN BENEFIT.
